Water Mirrors

To promote knowledge generation and knowledge sharing

The Water Mirrors project seeks to foster knowledge creation and exchange among regions facing comparable water-related challenges, focusing on selected areas in Colombia and the Global South. Each "mirror" site conducts localized, thematic research. For instance, access to safe water from groundwater is being explored by the Antioquia – Kenya mirror; improving food security by means of water reuse for agriculture is being investigated by Valle – Egypt; and solving ecological degradation in urban wetlands is the challenge for Bogota - Mexico.

In the Valle – Egypt mirror, BENAA Foundation and Universidad del Valle, with support from IHE Delft,  actively exchanging knowledge on water reuse in agricultural irrigation. Together, they are identifying similarities and differences between their contexts, while exploring successful experiences that can be an inspiration to be adapted or replicated in other settings.
